The SB444 override preserves the intent of the new school funding formula and means school districts are a step closer to receiving new funding for FY18. Tweaks such as those in SB444 are needed with any major legislation. We are glad this issue has been resolved and urge quick action on remaining items that could delay the disbursement of funds. Further action is needed before Illinois will be on a path toward equitable and adequate school funding.
