We are proud to have worked with thousands of advocates, educators, community leaders and parents toward this moment: a fair school funding formula is now law in Illinois. Along the way, we’ve seen communities throughout the state come together toward making public education equitable for all kids. While it will take years before we achieve funding equity and adequacy in Illinois, we now have a path forward.
A special thank you to all of the champions in the General Assembly who have urged a fix to the school funding formula in recent years and in many previous versions of legislation. Today is a historic win for students throughout the state.
